Frequently Asked Questions
What is Konkan Kada?
Konkan Kada is a 180° overhanging basalt cliff at Harishchandragad's western face. You literally stand on a ledge that juts out over a 1,000m sheer drop into the Konkan plains below — it's one of India's most stunning viewpoints.
Where do we sleep overnight?
The summit plateau has large natural cave shelters and permanent cement shelters used by trekkers. We camp here with sleeping mats and blankets (bring a sleeping bag for winter months).
Is this good for first-timers?
Harishchandragad is moderate — suitable for anyone with reasonable fitness who has done at least one easy trek before. The 3-hour ascent is steady but not technical.
What's the difference between routes?
Khireshwar route is the easiest and most popular. Nalichi Vaat is a technical climb (rope sections) for experienced trekkers only. We do Khireshwar by default.
